Gemma Nicolson, Head of Operations, Held in Our Hearts
Gemma was gifted a programme of leadership coaching when she started as Head of Operations at baby bereavement charity, Held in Our Hearts. The new role had been created following a restructure and at a time of considerable change, growth, and development for the organisation.
“I can’t begin to express the benefit I have found in having a safe space with Matt; to chat through some of the challenges and opportunities that have arisen, the changes associated for our staff and service offering, all while navigating a newly created senior leadership team and fresh, untested working relationships.
Our sessions have helped me to challenge myself, reflect, find calmness, and offer clarity
Our sessions have helped me to challenge myself, reflect, find calmness, and offer clarity in my understanding and thought process. This is allowing me to find the best way forward as I navigate my way through professional ups and downs.
…in exploring all of this through my coaching sessions, I have learned and grown so much
It is safe to say my first year in post has been a bit of a rollercoaster, however, in being tested and in exploring all of this through my coaching sessions, I have learned and grown so much.
I have a clear sense of self, direction and resolve at the difference I can make in helping to steer our way forward.I’m so grateful to my employer for the investment they have made for both the charity and myself in facilitating my coaching sessions and to Matt, for walking alongside me during this time. I really can’t thank him enough.”
